4:35 PMIt has long been decided that a Divine Mercy Church will be established in Cagayan de Oro when the Divine Mercy Foundation of Mindanao (Phils.), Inc. was founded in mid 1995. It ranks first in the vision and mission of the Foundation while propagating the Divine Mercy Devotion in Northern Mindanao.
In September 4, 2004, one year after the purchase of the 11-hectare lot located in PSB-Ulaliman, El Salvador, province of Misamis Oriental, the Foundation donated to the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro represented by then Archbishop Jesus B. Tuquib the 1-hectare prime lot inside the Divine Mercy Hills where the future Divine Mercy Statue and the Divine Mercy Church were to be exactly erected.
